Sensory Friendly Hours
Sunday, July 21st from 8 – 10 am
Thinkery is committed to providing an accessible and interactive experience for all. During Sensory Friendly Hours, Thinkery extends a special invitation to learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other special needs to explore Thinkery with their families.
A typical visit to Thinkery can be challenging for those who feel overwhelmed by large crowds and excessive stimuli. In acknowledgment of this, the galleries will be modified to reduce extra stimuli and ticket sales will be limited to reduce crowding.
In addition to exclusive museum access, Thinkery partners with amazing organizations to provide fun, hands-on activities and tailored information:
Theater arts and improv games with Joshua’s Stage
Storytime provided by Spark Learning
Piano performance by Hurley Piano
Engaging activities and helpful resources for children and families affected by autism with Variety, the children’s charity of Texas, the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Blue Sprig Pediatrics, Behavioral Innovations and Autism Society of Texas.
We will have games, food, and raffle prizes! Additionally, we will be doing a school supplies drive where all supplies collected during the event will be donated to Pine Tree ISD-Special Education Department. The more you donate, the greater your chance of winning a prize! The event will be FREE and open to the community, so bring all your family and friends!
Join Easter Seals for a FREE event for families with children with special needs. There will be backpacks filled with school supplies for students in PreK-12, games, activities, snacks, information on local resources, and more!
