Join Team Autism Society of Texas for Bike to the Beach Virtual Ride!
Ride Details
After thorough consideration and discussions with local riders, non-profit partners, and our team, the Bike to the Beach Team has decided to transition this year’s Bike to the Beach Houston ride to a 100% virtual event.
This Virtual Ride is a great family friendly way to support a great cause, you can track your miles before and on the day of the race on Strava, Fitbit, Apple Watch and Summa Mobile app.
Virtual registration includes:
- Your custom B2B ride-day jersey
- Finisher T-shirt
- Fundraising support through the Bike to the Beach fundraising portal and AST staff
Fundraising
- All funds raised by Team AST plus additional funds raised by Bike to the Beach will directly benefit our programs for Autistic children and adults in Texas.
- We ask each rider to raise at least $500 to help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000, but don’t worry – we are here to help!
How Can You Participate?
Even though the ride is only virtual, your participation remains crucial! Here are several ways you can still join in:
- Ride Solo or with Your Team: You can complete your mileage on October 28th, either individually or with your team, without organized support.
- Join a Local Group Ride: Connect with a local group ride and achieve your mileage goal with others.
- Cycle Indoors: Visit a local cycling studio and log your miles indoors.
- Flexible Timing: Spread your ride over a week or use the entire month of October to reach your mileage target.
- Group Ride Options: We’ll be sharing details about small group rides on our Facebook page. Stay tuned to join a group ride organized by another team!
The Benefits of a Virtual Bike Ride
While transitioning to a virtual format may seem like a change, it comes with several unique benefits that can enhance your experience and engagement:
- Flexibility: A virtual ride allows you to complete your mileage at your own pace and on your own schedule. Whether you prefer a solo ride, a group ride, or indoor cycling, you have the freedom to choose what works best for you.
- Personalization: You can tailor your ride to suit your preferences, exploring new routes or revisiting favorite ones. This flexibility can make the experience more enjoyable and personally meaningful.
- Inclusivity: Virtual rides eliminate geographical barriers, enabling more people to participate regardless of location. This inclusivity allows friends, family, and supporters from near and far to join in and support our cause.
- Safety and Comfort: With the option to ride indoors or in smaller, local groups, you can participate in a safe and comfortable environment. This approach helps maintain health and safety while still supporting our mission.
- Community Connection: Even though we won’t be together in person, the virtual format encourages you to stay connected with fellow riders through online platforms and social media. Share your progress, exchange tips, and celebrate achievements as part of our broader community.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Let’s make this virtual ride a success!
