Raising a child diagnosed with a disability (such as ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mood Concerns) can be stressful at times. Discussing the issues that you face every day with others who have similar experiences can be a wonderful way to relieve the stress, gain new perspectives, and create community. The Family Connections Support Group and Information Series at ABA Connect brings together parents who are raising a child with a disability to help each other along this journey.
This free group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6 PM-8 PM at the ABA Connect office. Each month will cover a topic relevant to parents, such as Managing Parent Stress, Understanding the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), How To Support Siblings, Financial Concerns. Dates: July 5, August 2, and September 6.
COST: Free/No Charge
Co-leaders: Ashlin Blum, LMSW, BCBA (supervised by Christina Sabisch, LCSW) & Meredith Brinster Ph.D.
