How I’m Thriving with Autism

By Joe Carr of aspiepower.com

I am an Aspie. I have an amazing fiance, a community of wonderful friends, a successful independent business, and a powerful mission to change the world. But it wasn’t always this way. Growing up I was considered weird, obnoxious, annoying and disruptive. I was extremely smart and talented, but excluded, bullied, and punished by kids and adults everywhere I went.

I fully began to thrive when I learned to accept my autism as a gift not a burden, and harnessed the unique abilities of my autistic body and mind. I love teaching my fellow aspies how to do this. And also share with caregivers what they can do (and not do) to support this transformation.
