The Special Needs Forum will continue its free live event series designed to educate families who have a loved one with special needs. The first event of 2019 will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 and is entitled: SSI and Saving for Future Care. Many people with a loved one with special needs are concerned and want to know how much savings is needed to ensure their child is cared for a lifetime. During this session, attendees can learn from professional financial advisors about how much savings and social security a child with special needs requires. We’ll review and discuss how to get started with the Supplemental Security Income application and review important steps along the process.

The Special Needs Forum is an educational resource for families who have a loved one with special needs. This year’s forum events will help you learn:
• How to build a protection plan for your child with special needs that will last a lifetime.
• How to ensure your child with special needs won’t lose important government benefits.
• How to ensure that someone who knows how to care for your child with special needs is always there.
Parents and guardians of children with special needs as well as those who teach and work in the special needs care industry are invited to attend. Each Special Needs Forum live event includes a light lunch, an informative presentation by a keynote speaker, and a question and answer segment.
