The 29th Annual Conference of the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) will be held at the Westin Galleria in Houston February 26 – March 1, 2015. The conference will include eight 3-hr workshops on: toilet training, behavior analysis at the zoo, functional analysis, organizational behavior management, higher-order thinking, restraint reduction, ethics, and adult services.
The program will also feature presentations by nationally recognized experts in such topics as: observational learning, social behavior, enhancing rapport between therapists and children with autism, the Affordable Care Act, Registered Behavioral Technicians, behavior analysis in science fiction, and more! Online pre-registration for individuals begins November 15th and ends January 31st. On-site registration will be available if the conference does not sell out during pre-registration, but we recommend registering in advance.
We are also accepting applications for the James L. Kopp Memorial Scholarship. Students must be listed as presenting authors in the program for ABAI’s 2014 Annual Convention, and must be current student members of TxABA to be eligible. Applications are due January 31st. Two applicants will be chosen to receive $500 scholarships toward attendance at the ABAI convention. Applicants should submit:
- a 2- to 3-page synopsis of the research they will be presenting at the ABAI convention, along with a current vitae
- proof of full-time student, intern, or resident status
- email from ABAI confirming convention submission has been accepted
The synopsis should include the purpose and importance of the research, method, and results (including graphs or other data displays). The synopsis and vitae should be submitted to txaba@txaba.org. Recipients will be announced at the TxABA annual conference.
