Thank you to the cities of Hutto, El Paso, and Pflugerville for issuing Autism Acceptance Month proclamations, and to Governor Abbott for recognizing Texans with Autism. These declarations help to affirm that every Autistic individual deserves respect, opportunity, and acceptance.
We were so excited to be featured on a segment of We Are Austin on CBS! Thank you so much to Trevor Scott, Chelsey Khan, Melanie Torre, and the entire “We Are Austin” crew for highlighting Autism Society of Texas and the Texas Autism Walk! Watch it now here.
Our El Paso office had an Autism Acceptance Month Open House event. It was great getting to connect with all of you!
This month also brought new data from the CDC, showing the Autism prevalence rate has shifted from 1 in 36 to 1 in 31. This increase reminds us how essential it is to continue building inclusive communities that meet the growing needs of Autistic individuals and their families.
