Check out some highlights from September!
We had a great time at Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark at our AST end of summer pool party! Thank you so much to Connor, Kara, and the rest of the Volente Beach staff for welcoming and hosting us! Also, thank you to Valeria for volunteering at our resource table.
We took part in two community back to school events, Deep Wood Elementary PTA Health Fair and the Austin ISD Showcase at the Palmer Events Center where we provided support and information to families. We also partnered with Big Thicket National Preserve for Big Thicket Sensory Sunday, a nature walk geared towards the Autism community!
We also were invited to join the Thinkery for their Joyful Learning Collaborative – a transformative initiative that redefines learning and collaboration through joy, curiosity, and community relationships. We joined with other community partners and local educators passionate about building an uplifting and encouraging community where joyful learning is accessible to ALL. We will keep you updated on this exciting development!
We presented live on Facebook on emergency preparedness alongside the September 26th Project, which was created to honor Autism advocate, Feda Almaliti and her son, Mu, who passed away in a house fire in California. The September 26th Project works to ensure families are prepared in the event of an emergency.
