Welcome the new ASCT Administrative Coordinator!

We are excited to announce we have hired a new, part-time Administrative Coordinator, Jacquie Benestante! We are thrilled to have her on board with us and look forward to having her expertise, time and energy on our team.

Here’s a little bit about Jacquie:

Jacquie Benestante is excited to join the Autism Society of Central Texas. Jacquie lives with her husband and son in South Austin. She spent much of the last few years volunteering in leadership roles within Austin ISD, serving as PTA President at her son’s school, planning and organizing PTA fundraisers to fill gaps in programming and technology needs, and chairing her schools Communications Committee which entailed working on the school website and managing the school’s social media. Jacquie has also served as a parent representative on various school district committees and has advocated for public school funding at the state level.  She has worked on parent outreach to support autism insurance reform at the state level, and locally worked with Austin City Council members to get Applied Behavior Analysis benefits for City of Austin employees. Jacquie also serves as her school’s Parent Special Education Support Representative, receiving training through Austin ISD’s Family and School Support Team to support parents of children with disabilities.  Before she became a parent, Jacquie worked as a women’s clothing designer in New York for over a decade, where she traveled to Asia & Europe frequently, and got many hours of experience juggling multiple tasks in a fast paced environment!  She is happy to no longer be working in the fashion industry, and excited to put all of her non-profit volunteer experience to good use. Jacquie is honored to support the autism community through her work with the Autism Society of Central Texas.

She can be reached at Jacquie@austinautismsociety.org  or by calling (512) 479-4199. Welcome to the ASCT team, Jacquie!
